Bath Uni Scouts and Guides Lead Rally

13 February 2014

On Friday 7th February, 196 student Scouts and Guides from across the country came to Wiltshire Scout Centre, Potterne for SSAGO Spring Rally being hosted by Bath University Guides and Scouts (BUGS). After 18 months of planning and preparation, the hard work had finally paid off as the three day event became to take place. As each SSAGO group arrived, the excitement of what the weekend had in store grew and the rain and mud could not dampen the high spirits.

In the morning everyone headed into Bath on 4 coaches where the city was shown off to all. Geocaching, mini golf, the Jane Austin Centre, skyline hike, the Roman Baths and viewing the sites were all on offer and the feedback from participants was astounding.  That evening, everything got more exciting as the Celidh band performed during dinner and games were played inside. Sunday morning, more activities took place including fish racing, jenga, smartie sucking and bowling.

The SSAGO Exec AGM took place after this, where votes were cast on the 2015 events and the new Exec members. BUGS then closed the event and everyone slowly said goodbye.

A huge thank you goes to Bath University Students Union, Girlguiding Bath Division, Somerset North Trefoil Guild and Avon County Scouts for their support.
