Dinosaur Scouts help at Jamboree

30 May 2014

10371447_437633636373759_3534966749067040025_n Network Scouts from Bath District joined Wansdyke Network at the ‘Wanjam’ camp over the May Bank Holiday for a weekend of fun. Despite the heavy rain over 600 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers camped at Lansdown Race Course and enjoyed numerous activities including climbing, archery, shooting, Disney films and a walk through ‘land that time forgot’.

The Network Scouts all aged 18-25 were the ‘face of Jamboree’ and keeping within the theme spent the whole weekend dressed in dinosaur onesies. The Networker’s ran the silent disco, face painting, the inflatables and helped with Avon Scout radio team all adding to the young peoples fun.

To keep their fitness levels up the Networker’s were taken along with Scouts and Explorers to RAF Colerne where an army physical training instructor pushed them hard with some intense fitness training followed by an indoor assault course – minus the onesies!

The camp started with Samba dancing and ended with a pirate juggler with all Scouts renewing their Scout promise. Despite the inclement weather all Scouts remained enthusiastic throughout the weekend and everyone had a great time.

To be part of Network you do not need a  Scouting background or be a Leader, just the ability to enjoy yourself! To join contact us here.
