Blaze Explorers Enjoy Canoe Experience

18 June 2014

Members of Bath’s Blaze Explorer Unit recently enjoyed a canoeing experience on the River Avon. With the backdrop of the Empire hotel, Pulteney Bridge and the weir, the 14-18 year olds had, for many, their first time in a canoe. A partnership arrangement with Bath Canoe Club means that Scouts from across Bath can now enjoy and take part in canoeing with qualified instructors. Canoeing is just one of many activities that Explorers are able to take part in, with several groups from Bath taking part in paint-balling this weekend.

Explorers, many of whom do not have a Scout or Guide background, get the opportunity to try out all sorts of activities including shooting, archery, cinema visits, climbing and camping.
