Bath Leaders Dance The Night Away

23 October 2014

On Saturday 4th October, adult members of Avon County Scouts gathered at the University of Bath for the County Ball. Those attending enjoyed a 3 course dinner before the dancing began. With a sweet trolley, a photo booth and a raffle with a top prize of a hot air balloon ride the ball was able to raise money for the two Units from Avon going to the World Jamboree in Japan.

Everyone who attended The Ball were dressed in dinner jackets and ball gowns and for many this was the first time they had seen their peers not in uniform or gore-tex!

The Ball was hosted by the Scout Network with Beth from South Wansdyke Network and  Tracey, Laurie and Simon from Bath City Network all part of the organizing team. Despite a few hiccups on the way including being told the venue had been double booked on the night, the ball was a major success with nearly 100 Leaders and their partners from across Avon County attending.

Deputy County Commissioner for 14-25, Paul Harper, said “Everyone I spoke to said it was a great event and we should do it again!”
