Scouts Enjoy St George’s Day Adventure in Devon
On Sunday 19th April, over 450 young people, and their leaders, descended on Crealy Adventure Park in Devon for our St Georges Day celebration. On arrival, the whole district formed up for a short parade and promise renewal ceremony led by local Scout Network members. Following this, the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers (and leaders!) were let loose to the adventure park where they enjoyed several hours of rides, particular highlights being the log flume and pirate ship, as well as having access to the huge adventure playground.
The event brought scouting sections from across the city together with all of Bath’s scout groups represented as well as all the age ranges, from 6-25.
Whether it was sliding down the water slide in a rubber boat, stroking the pygmy goats, or being scared on the runaway train, members of the district celebrated the day of our patron saint by having a fantastic time in glorious sunshine.
Scouting is always open to new people so if you are looking to take part in our next big adventure get in touch here!
As well as the amazing opportunities for young people there are also fantastic experiences on offer for adult volunteers enabling them to build on personal skills, like teamwork, confidence and leadership. As long as you’re over 18, you can help out as an adult volunteer in Scouting – there is no upper age limit! For more information, please contact us here.
