28th Bathampton Adventure Weekend – February 2023

Date: 8th Mar 2023 Author: Amy Howard

While many folk like to hunker down for the winter, Scouts have other ideas!

Last month, no less than 16 young people plus 2 leaders, all from 28th Bathampton, took off for an adventure weekend. They had a tremendous time zip lining, abseiling, street skating and fencing, further demonstrated their bravery and ‘can do’ attitude with the Leap of Faith, then finished off with a Widegame and a camp fire. All this went towards their Scouts Adventure Challenge Award. Huge thanks to everyone at the PGL Centre, Osmington Bay near Weymouth, who provided all these activities and kept everyone well fed!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
