Bath Scouts Strategy Pays Off!
Scouts from across Bath have just returned from a successful camp at the Strategy Event, a challenge camp run by Gloucester Scouts and held on the Earl of Bathurst’s Estate just outside Cirencester over a weekend.
Bath Scouts did very well with the 28th Bathampton Troop taking 1st place followed by 15th Freshford in 2nd place overall. The 13th won their Hub Competition while the 69th Weston and 51st Oldfield Park Troops gaining good positions on the score board.
28th also won the escape room competition by over 2 mins on the Sunday morning!
The challenges tested their Scouting skills, including map reading, First Aid, rucksack checks, shooting, bushcraft. With other bases testing their stamina and skills including a tricky assault course, a cave bus, rifle shooting, caber tossing and a supermarket sweep in a field – at each base the Scouts had to decide who from their Patrol would try and complete the task to gain the maximum points.
The Scouts camped under canvas, enjoyed fine (if rather hot) weather and some late nights at the disco – all in all they had a great time!
