15th Bath Freshford Scouts enjoyed an action-packed camp over the last May bank holiday weekend.
They worked in three patrols, each led by their 14-year-old Patrol Leaders, with an inter-patrol competition run over the course of the weekend, awarding points for camping set up and performance across a range of challenges.
Patrol Leaders worked hard to lead their patrols over a busy four days, completing several elements towards their Chief Scouts Award. This included navigating their teams on the hiking challenge which took them across the local area including the beautiful sites of Mells and Nunney.
Younger Scouts earnt more Nights Away badges and developed their camping skills; learning how to build and maintain a traditional campsite and collect wood suitable for campfire cooking. The Scouts were responsible for preparing all their own meals!
Competition challenges included identifying 10 types of tree, building a signal tower, making drying lines and kitchen utensils and even making the leaders a cup of coffee! (Smart leaders!!). The Falcon Patrol emerged the victors!
A total of 18 scouts attended at the East Somerset Scouts Tedbury Campsite and all returned on the Monday afternoon exhausted but happy and looking forward to the next camp!
