Digital Detox with Larkhall Scouts!

Date: 17th Aug 2024 Author: Amy Howard

Larkhall Scouts and Young Leaders had a fantastic summer camp at Plas Dolygaer, Breacon Wales.

From their idyllic campsite sandwiched between the Breacon Mountain Railway and the Pontsticill Reservoir they scaled the mighty Pen y Fan (top of this place), crawled through the Ogof-Y-Ci  (cave of the dog) and scaled and abseiled the rocky cliffs of Morlais Park.

The rest of the time, was spent on practising Scouting Skills, camping, cooking and playing wide games.

With no mobile phone reception, it was the perfect digital detox!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
